Inscribed Armenian Rugs

Donated to the Armenian Library and Museum in Watertown, Massachusetts, this collection was created by Arthur T. Gregorian to demonstrate that Armenians were indeed rug weavers. Included are many examples with Christian icons and Armenian inscriptions.

Antique Oriental Rugs of the Silk Route from the Gregorian Collection.

Exhibited in various configurations in museums throughout the country, this collection illustrates the wide range of influences in play in oriental rug art. Examples include rugs from Turkey, the Caucasus, China, Central Asia and Iran.
